Jean was a great director who worked along with his wife to give many great art pieces. He was also a peer of a great French wave and even received the Locarno Film festival lifetime achievement award back in 2017. Jean used a unique way to direct his films and his works were often based on the ethical, moral, and also historical values which already were present in German and French history. Many of his works were from pieces of history. Jean used to utilize natural ways like sounds of air and serval household things in his filming in order to gain a natural sound effect. His wife as well co-directed and supported his work.

Cinematheque Suisse’s spokesman Christopher Bolli added that he spoke to Jean before his death. Bolli also added that Jean passed away around 6 am this Sunday and he was in his sleep when he passed away. Bolli also said that jean passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones and was in his house in Switzerland when he passed away. Jean was at his house which is rolled, a lakeside land in his last moments, this place is also home to another filmmaker called Jean Luch Godard who passed away this September in 2022.

Jean was born back in 1933 in Northeastern France place called Metz. At a young age, Jean started his career and started working with many great directors like Jean Renoir, Jacques Rivette, and Robert Bresson. After working for years in France, Jane then moved to Germany and started working there. He directed films along with his wife Daniele Huillet who passed away in 2006. Some of the best projects of this couple include the Chronicles of Anna Magdalena which was released in 1968, From the Clouds to the resistance in 1979, and Sicilia which was released in 1999. The couple often used traditional narrative in their works and also used aesthetic patterns as well. Jean was awarded the Locarno’s leopard honour which is a lifetime achievement award and many other great awards as well in his career for his impeccable works. Jean and his wife’s first work was Machorka Muff which was released in 1962 and is a story based on the wars and West German war conditions. This film was a short 18 minutes long film based on the German revolution and fascism. Anna Magdalena Bach is also one of their works which were their approach toward the music industry and its authenticity of it. Jean was also friends with Godard who passed away at the age of 91 and was very close to Jean.
