Who Was Marsha Hunt?
Martha Hunt was born on the 17th of October 1917 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second daughter of her parents Earl Hunt and Minabel Hunt. Earl was a lawyer and later a social security administrator, while Minabel was a vocal teacher and an organist as well. Martha’s elder sister Marsha was a teacher who passed away in 2002. Martha had her education from Horace Mann High School for girls back in 1934. Although Martha’s parents were interested in her getting a degree, Martha was not able to find a college with a degree in drama. She signed a contract with a modelling agency during the initial stages of her career and until 1935 she became one of the highest-earning models in the industry.

Marsha initiated her career in acting by signing a contract with Paramount Pictures and she was just 17 years old at the time of signing the contract. She was given a screen test for The Virginia Judge and through that, she started her career in acting with her first ever picture. During 1935-1938, she worked for Paramount pictures and starred in many side and main roles as well. Some of her projects with Paramount pictures include, Easy to Take, Murder Goes to college and 20th-century fox. After that, her contract with Paramount Pictures was outdated and Martha signed a contract with MGM in 1941 giving her career a new revival. During her time she filmed nearly 50 movies and it was during her initial days of acting.

Marsha was blacklisted from Hollywood for the voice she raised against the committee and after 1950 she worked on TV and appeared less in films. She named Richard J Collins was responsible for her name being blacklisted. After 1957, she began working again in movies and until 1977 she worked on a number of projects. Martha married Jerry Hopper assistant head of the editing department from Paramount Pictures and soon they divorced in 1943. She later married Robert Presnell in 1946 and they shared a daughter who died the day after her birth due to complications. As per many of the sources, Marsha was in her house in Los Angeles, and she was 104 years old at the time of her death. She passed away due to natural causes.
